Dr Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the house, announced this during its proceedings on Monday  in Lafia.

The speaker appreciated the lawmakers for their  wise decision to join the APC.

The speaker appealed to the ruling APC to give the defecting members of the house automatic ticket ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

” I want to appeal to the State APC to give them lawmakers a soft landing via an automatic ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said.

Jatau also said their defection to APC followed the developmental strides of Gov. Abdullahi Sule.

He assured the lawmakers of equal privileges, rights and treatments in the party.

He, however, cautioned APC governorship aspirants and other aspirants of the party against castigating each other in the social media.

They said that the defections were done after due consultations with the people of their constituencies.

While appreciating their former party, SDP for giving them the platforms to win election, they assured of their continued commitment to providing purposeful leadership in the house and the state at large.

They also assured of their readiness to add value to the progress and development of APC and the state at large.

On his part, the lone SDP lawmaker and member representing Lafia Central Constituency, Mr Solomon  Akwashiki, said that they have the right to defect to APC based on their convictions.
