2023: ISLAMIC ORGANIZATION TASKS ZAMFARA POLITICIANS ON SHARI’A IMPLEMENTATION
Zamfara based Islamic Organization “Joint Youths Islamic Organization” (JYIO) has tasked candidates of political parties in the state to include Shari’a implementation in their political manifestos.
The Chairman of the Organization, Malam Sanusi Kwatarkwashi, made the call in Gusau at an event to commemorate the 23rd year anniversary of Sharia declaration in the state.
Kwatarkwashi called on the electorates the state to vote candidates with good records in shari’a implementation in the upcoming 2023 general elections.

“We should only vote for candidates that are ready to implement Sharia legal system to safeguard interest of Islamic religion”, he said.
He lamented that, the shari’a implementation and practice was abandoned in the state by both leaders and followers.
“When Sharia was introduced in the state in the year 2000, by the former governor, Senator. Ahmad Sani Yarima, the level of corruption, social vices and crime rates have reduced.
“Today all these advantages became history because the Shari’a legal system has been abandoned”.
“We are now witnessing includes high level of insecurity, corruption and mistrust between the leaders and followers” he noted.

“As vanguard for shari’a implementation, we consider it high time to wake up and call for sharia implementation both at individuals, collective and at government level so that we can get back to the good old days”, he added.
Kwatarkwashi appealed to politicians to play politics in sanitize way and avoid rancor, thuggery and threat to life and properties of innocent people.
In their separate remarks, the Special Adviser to Governor Bello Matawalle on Islamic Organizations and Quranic School’s Welfare, Dr Atiku Balarabe Zawiyya and Chairman of Jumu’at Mosques’ Imams in the state, Sheikh Liman Dan-Alhaji enjoyed Muslims in the state to vote for candidates with good records in shari’a implementation.
