2023 POLLS: ZAMFARA ANTI-THUGGERY COMMITTEE CAUTIONS POLITICIANS
Zamfara State Government Anti-Thuggery Standing Committee called on politicians in the state to avoid involving youths in to political thuggery and drugs abuse.
The Chairman of the Committee, Bello Soja Bakyasuwa made the call while receiving the newly appointed Secretary of the Committee, Haruna Isah Bukkuyum at the committee’s Secretariat in Gusau on Friday.

Bakyasuwa charged Bukkuyum to discharge his duties without fear or favour.
Bukkuyum, before this appointment, was the Secretary of Zamfara Road Transport Agency (ZAROTA).
Bakyasuwa said the committee, with its composition of security personnel from various security agencies, had the mandate to fight against political thuggery, drug abuse and other crimes in the state.
“The formation of the committee was part of the measures taken by Gov. Bello Matawalle to ensure that peace and stability are maintained in the state.

“With the recent improvement in security sector in the state, government must adopt measures to ensure sustainable peace and stability in the state.
“As we all know, the political activities for the 2023 general elections is around the corner, we are calling on youths in the state to desist from political thuggery and drugs abuse,” Bakyasuwa said.
