A BILL TO ESTABLISH SECOND COLLEGE OF NURSING SCIENCES IN ZAMFARA SCALES SECOND READING
A bill to enact a law for the establishment of second College of Nursing Sciences in Zamfara has scaled its second reading by the state house of assembly.
A bill received its first second reading at the assembly’s plenary chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Alhaji Musa Bawa Yankuzo in Gusau on Tuesday.
This followed a motion moved by the Speaker of the house who is also representing Zurmi West Constituency seeking for the lawmakers’ support to the motion.
Magarya emphasized the need for the establishment of the College considering the urgent need of health personnel in the state.

“The College of Nursing Sciences if established will bridge the gaps of patients and health-personnel ratio across the state”, he said.
Magarya appealed to members of the house to support the motion considering it’s impact on health sector of the state.
He noted that the college if established will help the teaming youths from Zamfara North and the state in general to read various health-related courses.
After deliberations by the lawmakers, the Deputy Speaker, Musa Bawa Yankuzo directed Clerk of the House, Sa’idu Anka to give a bill its first and second readings.
Yankuzo referred the bill to the house Committee on Health and Human Medicine for scrutiny and report back to the house after one month.
