ADC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE REACTS TO HIGH COURT JUDGMENT ON ZAMFARA PDP PRIMARIES
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Governorship Candidate in Zamfara, Dr Ahmad Hashim on Wednesday hailed judgment of the Federal High Court, Gusau which nullified the governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The Federal High Court sitting in Gusau on Tuesday nullified the Primaries held on Sept. 23 that produced Dr Dauda Lawal-Dare as PDP Governorship candidate in the state.
Delieving judgment, Aminu Bappa-Aliyu said that the PDP lost the opportunity to field a candidate in the 2023 polls for failing to conduct Primaries inline with the guidelines of the Electoral Act 2022 as amended.
The same court had earlier on Sept 16, nullified the first exercise, following alleged irregularities in the Governorship primaries conducted on May 25.

Reacting to the judgement while speaking to newsmen in Gusau , Hashim commended the court for the judgement.
He described it as a good step for the democratic development not only in Zamfara but in the country in general.
“This is an indication of presence of rule of law in Nigeria, this is also a pointer that Nigerian democracy is moving forward.
“I am sympathizing with PDP and its governorship candidate, Dr Dauda Lawal-Dare over the outcome of the judgement.
“I am calling on them to accept the judgement with good fate”, he noted.
The governorship candidate also appealed to people of the state to vote wisely during the 2023 general elections.
“I am calling on our electorates especially at grassroots to vote not based on political sentiment, let us vote the right candidates in all the political positions”, Hashim added.
