2023: Sokoto APC Guber Candidate Assures Business Community Of Good Road Network

Worried by the dilapidating state of link roads within Sokoto metropolis, the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto has pledged to ensure urgent reconstruction of all such roads as soon as he gets into office come 2023.
Recall that, Ahmed Aliyu is the immediate past, Executive Secretary of Police Trust Fund and contested against incumbent governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal in the 2019 general elections.
Aliyu was the deputy of Tambuwal under the All Progressive Congress (APC) from 2015 to 2018 when Tambuwal defected back to the PDP to contest the party’s presidential primary.
Tambuwal lost the contest to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and later returned to contest against his former deputy, Ahmed Aliyu in 2019.
The contest between Tambuwal and his former deputy, Ahmed Aliyu was and still remained the most talked about political drama, hence, the incumbent narrowly defeated his contender with a slim margin of 342 to retain his seat.

Ahmed Aliyu who is now up against Tambuwal’s annointed candidate, Saidu Umar for the 2023 top job of Sokoto state pledged bringing dividends of democracy closer to the grassroots when elected.
Speaking when he visited Sahara area of the metropolis inhabited mostly by members of resident communities who are largely into businesses ranging from spare parts, textile/fabrics amongst others.

Aliyu who observed that the bad state of the roads is no doubt having negative effects on commercial activities within Sokoto metropolis, also welcomed scores of residen community decampees.
To them, he assured, “The condition of these roads I am sure is affecting businesses here, especially during rainy season as many motorist may not want to drive in here.
“But, you need not worry, I am assuring all of you of
an enabling environment to carry out your businesses without any hinderance ad ease”.
Aliyu gave same assurance when he met with the association of Sokoto State Association Of Spare Parts Dealers, Tailors and Automobile Mechanic of Igbos, Yoruba and other ethnic extractions.
He appreciated their peaceful disposition, saying they are contributing positively to the economic growth of the state and urged them to sustain the tempo, as he will provide the needed assistance to them after becoming governor come 2023.
Responding, to the visit, residents of Sahara areas thanked the APC governorship candidate for the assurance to fix their roads, just as they reminded him of similar plight in places dominated by resident communities such as Old Airport, Tamaje, Mabera, Danbuwa, Kwanawa amongst others.
