ZAMFARA LAUNCHES 3RD CIRCLE OF NG-CARES PROGRAMME 

The Zamfara Government has launched third circle of the Nigeria Covid-19 Action Recovery And Economic Stimulus (N-G Cares) implementation programme in the state.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Abubakar Muhammad Nakwada, at the launch of the programme in Gausu, said it was  aimed at complementing other related social agenda programmes of Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration.

Nakwada noted that the programme was also targeted at poverty reduction and creation of favourable condition for all citizens across the state.

“The objective of the programme is to alleviate poverty and current economic challenges faced by the citizens, ensuring promotion of human development and social protection.

“Zamfara government under Governor. Dauda Lawal, came up with several agendas aimed at transforming the state.

“We will continue to collaborate with any individual, groups or institutions to minimise the vulnerable situation affecting our people.

“We are committed to bringing positive changes and progress for our beloved state.

“I want to share exciting initiatives to be undertaken under the NG-Cares programme in the state inline with six priorities of current administration in the state”, the SSG said. 

According to him, as part of the present administration’s measures of ensuring safety and wellbeing of our citizens, security has been our priority since our inception.

“Under the NG-Cares programme, we plan to implement measures to provide livelihood support to vulnerable individuals and groups, generating employment opportunities through labour intensive public works, social transfers and livelihood grants.

“We are targeting to empower 2,850 individuals and vulnerable households across the state.

“Under the agricultural sector, we plan to provide support to 24,000 farmers with fertiliser and farm inputs as well as capacity building”, he said.

The SSG further said that the state government under economic growth, recognised the crucial role of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SME’s) in deriving economic growth and reducing unemployment rate.

“Under this goal, we plan to support 10,000 SME’s across the state.

“Education as foundation for development to every society,  our administration will enhance quality education by promoting infrastructure in public schools through construction and renovation works.

“We will equip schools across the state with modern learning facilities, we will provide necessary resources to students and teachers to ensure effective learning process”, he explained.

“Part of our administration’s commitments is to ensure access to medical services for all, we are targeting to improve health care system by upgrading 30 healthcare facilities across the state.

“This is to minimise infants and maternal mortality in the communities across the state.

“Under the infrastructure development, we plan to construct 90 water projects across the state”, the SSG added.
