Leadtots Development Initiative in partnership with Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has advocated for more inclusion of women in governance and decision making processes.
This was stated during the women inclusion summit organized by Leadtots and NAWOJ to mark this year’s celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8th, held at American Space, Bauchi State.
The Executive Director of Leadtots, Nicholas Afeso Oshojah, appealed to governments at all levels to include women in order for them be progressive.
“Today leadtot is celebrating womanhood around the world. We are calling on the government at all levels to prioritize women empowerment, invest in her health and education system and appoint more women in policy and decision making processes in the state and the nation at large”
“Let us create a world we will all be proud to hand down to our children and grandchildren. Invest in women and accelerate progress.”
In his remarks, Seun Justin commended the women for their resilience in upholding their beliefs.
“We are glad to partner with NAWOJ and American Space to host the women summit 2024. It is so exciting that even before this date there was conversation on how can we promote women inclusion in our spaces.
Even though we have not gotten to where we want to be, it is important to see partners like NAWOJ and many others come together to say that how do we gather from different space of engagement in Bauchi state to look at this critical matters”.
Various women groups attended the summit tagged “Inspire inclusion in politics and governance” and offered various suggestions on the way forward for women to be actively involved in politics.
