The Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), Kano has made a significant leap in medical advancement by performing its first kidney and urology treatments using Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation (LASER) technology.
The technology will enable the Doctors to treat kidney and urology issues using less invasive procedures. The Lead Surgeon, Dr. Przemyslaw Zugaj, a urology doctor from Poland, expressed his excitement about the technology, stating that it can be used to treat complicated cases such as Kidney, Bladder, and prostate issues more effectively.

Zugaj highlighted that unlike conventional methods that may require invasive procedures and long hospital stays, LASER treatments enable patients to return home after two to three days, even in the presence of complications.
