TETFund Not in Bed with any political Party
….TETFund is a world-class intervention agency in Nigeria’s Tertiary Education, it does not dabble into politics or belong to any political party

TETFund is an intervention agency set up to provide supplementary support to all levels of public tertiary institutions with the main objective of using funding alongside project management for the rehabilitation, restoration and consolidation of Tertiary Education in Nigeria.
The recent unfounded and basely allegation by Mrs Patricia Yakubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader of Adamawa State Chapter, which was stirred by the internal crisis within the party, shouldn’t have dragged the reputation of an Agency with the best practice and track record of an excellent execution of its mandate or its efficient leadership under Arc. Sonny Echono.
It is important to categorically state that Arc. Sonny Echono is not a card-carrying member of the APC or any political party.
Mrs Patricia’s insinuation that TETFund, has been involved in funding political activities reveals either a misunderstanding of the institution’s mandate or a deliberate attempt to smear the reputation of an institution that have remained apolitical and focused on national development.
TETFund does not award contracts on behalf of Beneficiary Institutions and so FCE Yola which is a Beneficiary Institution is solely responsible for engagement of its contractors in line with the policy of the Fund. While General Murtala Mohammed College,Yola (GMMC) where TETFund contracts are alleged to have been sold is not a Beneficiary Institution of TETFund.
It goes without saying that, Arc. Sonny Echono is a man of proven integrity and an accomplished professional whose track record speaks for itself. Since assumption in office as the Executive Secretary of TETFund, he has worked tirelessly in line with the Agency’s mandate and upholding the values of transparency, accountability, and excellence.
His commitment to the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu further underscores his dedication to national progress and the development of Nigeria’s education sector.

Therefore, it is a great disservice to our Nation and our Tertiary Institutions, it is also unholy and a mortal sin for someone who seems to be hurt or let down by the leadership of their political party to involved a diligent Agency like TETFund and its leadership in what they are not involved
The allegations by Mrs. Patricia Yakubu being push by the opposition party are baseless, malicious, and defamatory. They appear to be an attempt to divert attention from the internal issues of the APC Adamawa Chapter by targeting an Agency and its leadership under the able hands of Arc. Sonny Echono who has no connection to the state’s political dynamics.
TETFund therefore, is not in bed with any political party in Nigeria, simply because its mandate are very clear and being driven by result oriented team under the leadership of Arc. Sonny Echono
