Yobe Forum hails Buni for reviving Yobe concrete pole factory

The Yobe State Forum of Chief Executives of Boards and Parastatals has commended the State Government for reviving the Yobe Pre-stressed Concrete Poles Industry in Damaturu.

The interim Chairman of the forum, Mr Mustapha Goniri, made the commendation when he led the forum on an inspection visit to the company on Thursday.

He said the visit was part of the group’s 2024 end-of-year activities, aimed to gather first-hand information on the company’s achievements and challenges.

“This will create a synergy among Managers, Executive Secretaries, and Managing Directors.

“We want to exchange ideas and make some useful suggestions where necessary for the development of the state,” Goniri said.

He further said that such visits would be organised regularly to allow members to learn from each other and address common challenges.

Receiving the forum, the General Manager of the company, Haruna Maje, welcomed the forum members and expressed gratitude for its support.

Maje said that the company, established in 2018, was conceived to support rural and urban electrification projects by supplying quality concrete poles, generating employment for youths, and increasing the state’s revenue base.

He further said that the resuscitation of the company aligned with Gov. Mai Mala Buni’s agenda of reviving dormant industries in the state.

He conducted the visitors on a guided tour of the facility, through the production process and other technical aspects of the company.

He expressed appreciation to the governor for his commitment toward reviving the industry.
