16 countries for trauma healing conference in Nigeria

The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) says 16 countries will converge on Lagos from Feb. 19  to Feb. 20 for the International Community of Practice Trauma Healing  Conference.

The Manager, Media, BSN, Mr Ben Mordi who disclosed this in a statement in Lagos on Sunday, noted that the society had concluded arrangements to host the event.

Mordi said the conference, themed: “Healing Trauma in a World of Uncertainty: Navigating Global Crises and Building Resilience,” would be held at Protea Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

He said the 16 countries comprise representatives of 15 Bible Societies across Africa and representatives of the American Bible Society.

“This timely event will bring together trauma healing practitioners, mental health professionals, religious leaders, and community workers from across Nigeria, Africa and beyond.

“Participants will explore the diverse impacts of trauma in the context of ongoing global crises, including conflicts, natural disasters, economic instability, and insurgency”, he said.

Mordi said the two-day conference would feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive sessions focusing on various aspects of trauma healing.

According to him, the conference will provide a platform for sharing best practices, innovative approaches, and resources for addressing trauma and fostering resilience at individual and community levels.

He said the conference would also feature sharing of reports and success stories on trauma healing from other Bible Societies and organisations involved in trauma healing.

The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that the BSN is a nonprofit interdenominational Christian organisation which translates the Bible into Nigerian languages.

It publishes, and distributes the Holy Scriptures, raises funds for the Bible work and executes programmes that help people to engage with the Word of God for transformation of their lives.
