KTSG approves N1bn to access TETFund’s intervention for teaching hospital
Katsina State Government has approved the release of over N1 billion as counterpart funding to access more than N10 billion TETFUND intervention for the establishment of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina, teaching hospital.
The State Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Musa Adamu, disclosed this to newsmen at a press briefing, on Thursday in Katsina.
He said that the funding was aimed to facilitate the full commencement of the MBBS Programme’ at the institution.

The commissioner further explained that the establishment of the teaching hospital has been the prerequisite for Medicine course at the university.
Adamu also said that the government has approved a contract for the review of the abandoned Ophthalmology Centre project at the Gen. Amadi Rimi Specialist Orthopedic Hospital, Katsina.
“The contract sum has been revised from N407 million to over N500 million, following recommendations from the committee of experts that conducted an assessment and evaluation,” he added.
