FG, Katsina Mute 48 Hours After Hisbah Ordered Statewide School Closure
The federal ministry of education and the Katsina State government are yet to address or issue a response to a public announcement made by the Katsina State Hisbah Board, ordering the closure of all private schools for the duration of Ramadan.
In the statement signed by Hisbah commander general Aminu Usman on Thursday, the authorities directed private schools in Katsina to be closed to allow pupils to fully observe the Ramadan fast.
Made public 48 hours ago, the school closure announcement has sparked debate among Nigerians. Yet, the state and federal governments have stayed silent.

“The directives include extra lesson please.
“The Hisbah Board urges all school proprietors to strictly comply with this directive. Non-compliance will not be tolerated.”
In the letter, the board stated that it issued the statement in accordance with the state government’s directive, a claim the state is yet to deny or admit.
More importantly, the federal ministry of education has failed to react to the directive in Katsina. The ministry’s position on whether it is in support or against a decision that will prevent affected pupils from attending classes for a month was unknown at press time. FFIJ
