Taraba residents decry poor power supply, high tariff
A cross section of residents of Jalingo, have decried the erratic power in the state in spite of the exorbitant charges by the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).
Mr John Adamu, a resident of Nukai, a suburb of Jalingo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Sunday that the power was nothing short of epileptic.
Adamu, who expressed his frustration at the situation, said at a time when electricity supply was at its lowest, consumers were now dealing with increased charges.
He called on Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC), to rise up to the challenge of meeting the electricity demands of the people.
Hajiya Maimuna Yakubu, a resident of Magami in Jalingo, rated the YEDC poor in electricity supply.
Yakubu called on the Federal Government to re-evaluate the power supply mechanisms of the PHCN.
According to her, the daily power supply was usually not up to four hours, yet residents were being slammed with exhorbitant charges.

Yerga said that the power consumption in his area was not commensurate to the bill they were paying.
He, therefore, called on the Federal Government to revoke PHCNβs licence and award it to a more qualified company.
