2 insurgency-widowed narrate ordeal, seek help
Two insurgency-widowed women have narrated their ordeals since five years they lost their husbands to Boko Haram insurgency in northern Nigeria.
The middle-aged women, Mrs Julcit Ayuba and Mrs Deborah David, were guests at the Foundation of Truth Assembly (FOTA) 2025 Cross Concert campaign and Charity.
The FOTA event was to raise funds to support victims of insurgency in the north.
The widows spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sidelines of the event held in Lagos State on Monday.
The concert featured prominent Nigerian gospel artistes such as Tope Alabi, Mike Abdul, Kaestring, Abbey Ojomu and Wisdom Chigozie.

Ayuba, who hails from Yobe, said that her husband was among the 400 community men lured to assemble for a security meeting by a fake soldier at the community square but were all killed by insurgents.
Ayuba, mother of four, said that since the incident, she had been suffering from psychological disorder with no support.
” Most times, we have no food to eat. The children are out of school because I cannot pay their school fees.
“The routes to our farms have been occupied by Boko Haram insurgents; therefore, we cannot access the farms.

“Churches, where we sought refuge in the past, have been destroyed, shepherds killed or they ran away for safety,” she said.
Also, David, mother of three from Kaduna State, whose husband was also killed by insurgent, said that life had been tough since her husband’s death.
She said that relief materials scarecely went round, and many children were malnourished.
The women called on public-spirited Nigerians to come to the aid of displaced persons in the north.
Earlier, a former CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, regretted continued insurgency in Nigeria, urging intensified efforts to tackle it.
