Yobe Ready For Partnership With IOM-Gov. Buni
Yobe state Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, COMN, has assured more partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) UN migration to enhance the resettlement, reconstruction and recovery programme of the state government.
Buni stated this while receiving the Chief of Mission IOM UN Migration in Nigeria, Sharon Dimanche.
He explained that his administration launched the State Policy on Internally Displaced Persons to address the challenges faced by the IDPs.

The Governor further said his administration has allocated five per cent of the state budget to provide more infrastructure and facilitate the resettlement and integration of IDPs with dignity.
Governor Buni noted that government has invested in education, agriculture, Healthcare delivery, roads, electricity and water supply to fast track the resettlement and recovery process of the government.

“l am happy this has worked for us, and we do not have IDP camp in the state as our displaced persons have been resettled with dignity, which has become a point of reference” he said.
Earlier, the Chief of Mission, commended Governor Buni for his commitment to the cause of displaced persons in Yobe state.
“lt takes a leader with a special heart to show such great concern to the resettlement of displaced persons with dignity” Sharon said.
She reiterated the commitment of IOM to partner with Yobe state government to improve the lives of the people.
