Gov. Buni Chairs Security Council Meeting, Expands Yobe State’s Operation Haba Maza Security Outfit
Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State today chaired a crucial state security council meeting in Damaturu, bringing together heads of all major security agencies operating within the state.

The meeting focused on a comprehensive assessment of the current security landscape and the identification of areas requiring enhanced security measures.
Following the meeting, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Affairs, addressed the press, announcing significant developments in the state’s security apparatus.
A key announcement involved the expansion of Operation Haba Maza, a vital state security initiative. The initiative will now operate as a joint security outfit, incorporating personnel and resources from all security agencies in the state.
“Operation Haba Maza will now have operational bases in five key locations across the state: Potiskum, Gashua, Nguru, Geidam, and Buni Yadi,” General Abdulsalam stated.
This expansion aims to bolster internal security across all parts of Yobe State, ensuring a more comprehensive and effective response to security threats.

Addressing the recent temporary closure of three weekly markets in the state, General Abdulsalam clarified that this action was a proactive measure designed to protect citizens.

“Ongoing security operations are underway in these areas,” he explained, “and this temporary closure allows security agencies to work effectively and prevent any unforeseen incidents.”
General Abdulsalam concluded by appealing to the citizens of Yobe State for continued cooperation and support.
He emphasized the collaborative efforts between the state government and security agencies, reinforcing their commitment to building upon the existing security achievements and ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
