Renewed Hope Initiative support women’s recapitalisation in Yobe.

Women have been called to engage in Business activities to be self-reliant and economically empowered.

 The State acting  Coordinator Renewed Hope initiative under the office of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Dr Mairo Ahmed Amshi, stated this while flagging off the women’s economic empowerment programme for small business recapitalisation grants to five hundred women across the state.

 According to her, the renewed hope initiative in Yobe state, through the state’s first lady, Ms Hafsat Kolere Buni, embarked on the empowerment programme in collaboration with Tony Elumelu Foundation to improve the lives of the vulnerable women across the 36 states of the federation and Abuja.

The state coordinator said each beneficiary would receive fifty thousand Naira as a small business recapitalisation grant initiative. 

 Dr Mairo Ahmed Amshi called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the money given to them to improve their livelihoods.

 The acting state coordinator commended the efforts of the Nigerian first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Hajiya  Hafsat Kolere Buni for the initiative, saying that each beneficiary would get the sum of fifty thousand Naira to empower their families.

 Earlier, Yobe  commissioner of  Women Affairs, Hajiya Ya Jalo Badama, said the initiative was meant to support the entrepreneurial spirits of women traders and small-scale businesses.

 She encouraged the beneficiaries to support their families, especially the education of their children, as well as community members.

 Hajiya Ya Jalo emphasised that the initiative is not a loan but a grant to recapitalise their existing businesses, calling on the beneficiaries to utilise the grant judiciously.

 Some beneficiaries who spoke at the event Rakiya Umar Idriss, Hajiya Adama and Falmata Muhammad expressed gratitude to the renewed hope initiative for the gesture.

 They assured to utilise the grant to develop their businesses and livelihood conditions.
