KNSG conveys 588 students under exchange programme
The Kano State Government , on Thursday , said it has conveyed 588 students to 13 Northern states under the Students Exchange Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The states the students were transported to included Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Katsina, Kebbi, Taraba and Nasarawa, Yobe, Kaduna, Sokoto, Borno and Kwara.
According to the state government, additional 78 students would be conveyed to Niger and Benue on Sept. 30.
The Voice Media Trust ( VMT NEWS) reports that Kano is among the 19 Northern states participating in the programme
The programme was designed to promote unity and enhance cultural understanding among member states.

Briefing newsmen after the students’ departure on Thursday, the Commissioner for Education, Dr Ali Makoda, assured the state government’s commitment to the safety of the students.
Makoda, represented by the Director, Monitoring and Evaluation, Auwal Mustapha, said Gov. Abba Yusuf had provided the necessary logistics and financial support to ensure the successful transportation of the students.
Makoda also commended parents and stakeholders for their cooperation toward the success of the programme.
