Gov. Buni Inspects Damaturu Flyover, sixteen kilometres Road Projects others

Damaturu, September 27, 2025: His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. (Dr) Mai Mala Buni CON, COMN, today, Saturday, paid an inspection visit to the Damaturu Flyover and underpass, and the Damaturu-Gambir road projects under construction.

At the Flyover and Underpass project, Gov. Buni expressed satisfaction with the quality and speed of work on the project.
“I am happy with the quality and speed of work on the project, the contractors have so far lived up to expectations with strict adherence to the contractual agreements.
“When completed, this would greatly check the problem of congestion here at the city, as well as the menace of flood into houses along Gashua road”, he said.
The state commissioner for Works, Engr. Umar Wakil Dudaye, who conducted the Governor round the project, said site engineers from the ministry have been on every stage of development on the project to ensure compliance and for the government to have value for its money.

The contractors further assured the Governor that the project would be completed within the stipulated time frame.
Similarly, Gov. Buni was at the Damaturu -Gambir road project for a personal assessment of the quality and speed of the project.
The Governor said the road has great economic value as it would ease the transportation of agricultural products from the benefiting communities to Damaturu, the state capital.

We have a lot of agricultural communities that are always challenged with the difficulty of moving their farm produce to Damaturu, where there is a huge market.
“This road would provide a solution to the age-long difficulty faced by the communities.
“I am glad the contractor has completed the earth work and commenced the overlay” Gov. Buni noted.
Engr. Modu Bukar Girgirimi of Elegance Construction, contractors handling the project, assured the Governor that the project would be completed in the next nine weeks.
The governor was accompanied by his deputy Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, Secretary to the state government, commissioners and other top government officials.
