Yobe State: First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu Flag of food distribution under the renewed hope initiative (RHI)

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, explained that the Food Outreach Scheme under the Renewed Hope Initiative’s Social Investment Fund was launched in March 2024 to provide food items to persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups to support their families.

She revealed that the goal of the Renewed Hope Initiative is to complement the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by supporting all Nigerians to strive and achieve their goals, irrespective of their condition or status.
According to her the renewed hope initiative will support elderly people and women in agro-businesses with start-up kits and other empowerment to venture into agricultural activities for food security and sufficiency.
Also speaking, Yobe state Governor Dr Mai Mala Buni, who was represented by his deputy, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment towards improving the living conditions of the people with a focus on women, youth and elderly persons as part of the post-insurgency recovery programme.

Governor Buni applauded the efforts of the first lady for her passion to support vulnerable households across the country, saying that the initiative will cushion the impact of current economic conditions.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Wife of the State Governor and State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Hajiya Hafsat Mai Mala Buni, informed the gathering that the government of Governor Mai Mala Buni has enthusiastically supported the First Lady’s initiative in the state.
She explained that the program provides massive support to women, children, and vulnerable groups.
She stated that the occasion further demonstrates the motherly love and sense of belonging the First Lady has consistently shown, supported by her immense generosity.
The event featured the flag-off of the distribution of assorted food items to vulnerable women’s groups in the state.
