Post-insurgency recovery: Tarmuwa local government chairman organised the first edition of the Dan Dubai Cup 2025.

Sports have a unique ability to bring people together, foster dialogue and promote unity, which are all essential for peacekeeping efforts.
It also promotes understanding and respect among individuals from diverse backgrounds, encourages teamwork and mutual understanding, especially among the youth.

Against this background, the executive chairman of Tarmuwa local government, Alhaji Muhammad Lamido Musa, organised a football competition tagged Dan Dubai cup 2025 to support the state government under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s peace-building efforts in the conflict-affected areas.
The chairman, while addressing athletes and enthusiasts, congratulates all teams that participated in the tournament for their sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Mohammed Lamido Musa reassured that the competition was organised to complement Governor Buni’s efforts in youth inclusion in the peace-building mechanism.
He acknowledged the efforts of the organisers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the event possible.
The chairman assured to continue to inspire and motivate young athletes to strive for excellence both on and off the field.
Shedding more light on the competition, Tarmuwa local government sport officer Sale Muhammad Grema applauded the support and dedication of the executive chairman Muhammad Lamido Musa, whose passion for sport development in the community brought it to the present moment.
Mr Sale Grema said the first edition of the Dan Dubai Cup 2025 brought together ten teams from the preliminary stage to the final stage of the competition between the Army football club and Babbangida United.
The sports officer commended the hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship, saying football is more than a game, it is a test of teamwork, resilience, and unity.
Mr Sale Grema thanked the security agencies, match officials, coaches, volunteers and spectators for ensuring the tournament ran smoothly, pointing out that their efforts embody the spirit of community.
He used the medium and applauded the chairman’s efforts for transforming sport in the local government, assuring that the tournament is a testament to the peace and stability the area is enjoying.

Some residents of Babbangida Alhaji Usman Ngari, Abba Alkali Yarima, said the successful hosting of the tournament is a clear indication that peace has returned to the area.
They appreciate the numerous developmental strides brought to the local government under the leadership of the chairman through Dr Mai Mala Buni’s administration.
The tournament was participated in by 10 teams from the group stage, including Koriyel United, Lantewa United, Jumbam United, Chirokusko United, Biriri United, Shekau United, Garga United, Babbangida 1 and 2, as well as the Army football club.
Highlights of the event were the presentations of medals to the participating team, a trophy to the winners, as well as cash support of 250 thousand naira and 150 thousand naira to the runner-up.
