Governor Fintiri Mourns Passing of Bayelsa Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has expressed profound shock and sorrow on behalf of his government and the people of Adamawa State following the death of Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo passed away after a brief illness at the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa.

In a statement released today by Humwashi Wonosikou, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor , Fintiri described the late Deputy Governor as a “remarkable leader, who embodied trust, integrity, and dedication.” He extended his deepest sympathies to Senator Ewhrudjakpo’s bereaved family, friends, and associates, as well as to Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State and the entire populace.

“I am shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of this remarkable leader,” Governor Fintiri stated.

The Adamawa State helmsman acknowledged the significant contributions made by the late Deputy Governor, highlighting his “courage, determination, and passion” which he said inspired many.

“His tireless efforts towards the growth and development of Bayelsa State will be deeply missed, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations,” the Governor added.

Governor Fintiri offered prayers for strength to Senator Ewhrudjakpo’s family during this period of immense loss and prayed for the eternal rest of his soul.

“May his memory be a blessing to the people of Bayelsa State and Nigeria, and may his contributions to nation-building continue to inspire us all,” Governor Fintiri concluded.
