Recovery programme: Yobe govt resuscitate economic activities through modern markets, access roads others

The construction of a modern market in potiskum has been described as a worthwhile investment located in the commercial hub of the state.
Leading journalists to a statewide media tour, the commissioner of information Alhaji Abdullahi Bego said Potiskum Ultra modern markets and that of Ngalda, Potiskum trailer park as well as other rural access roads were investments aimed at boosting the economic status of people in the area.

In all the places visited ,Alhaji Abdullahi Bego brief journalists on the significance of the development strides recorded by the Buni led administration within short time to resuscitate economic activities across the State
Shedding lights on the technical aspect, the commissioner for housing and urban development Architect Ahmad Abba kyari said Potiskum ultra modern markets consist of four hundred and twelve shops of different sizes, one hundred and ninety two stalls, inner structures, administrative blocks, a befitting mosque, refuse bank, banking hall, perimeter fence, electricity, water facilities, fire service, police outpost, drainages and road network among others..
According to him Ngalda modern markets consist of ninety eight shops, one hundred and fifty six stalls and forty eight warehouses among other structures.
The team also visited Dawasa- Chikuriwa Kukuri seventeen kilometres, Fika Maluri 25 kilometer and Danchuwa Jajere 34 kilometer rural access roads linking several communities to improve access to markets reduced transportation cost and increasing economic opportunities for famers, traders and people around the corridor.

Briefing newsmen on the potiskum trailer park,the commissioner of information Abdullahi Bego assured that Potiskum is the largest commercial center in the state and host the largest cattle market in west African
The commissioner explained that when completed the trailer park would generate over five thousand direct jobs to the teeming youths in the state.
Shading more light on the project, the commissioner for housing Architect Ahmad Abba kyari said the trailer park covers an area of eighty six thousand square meters that can accommodate over five thousand trailers at a time, adding that the project is ninety eight percent completed.

Residents across potiskum and environs applauded governor Buni’s efforts for initiating such transformative development project in the area.
They pledged their unflinching support to the government and assured to take ownership in maintaining the projects for the overall development of the area.
