NEDC hands over projects for the construction of roads, drainages in Potiskum.

The northeast development commission NEDC has hand over projects for the construction of township roads and bridges linking Kara, Masaka, anguwar Jaji axis and the mazaga community in Potiskum local government area.
Speaking while handing over the projects the managing director of the commission Muhammad Goni Alkali said the NEDC is working closely with the state government to ensure timely implementation of post conflict recovery and settlement efforts to improve livelihood of the residents.
Represented by the state coordinator of the commission Professor Ali Ibrahim Abbas, the managing director assured that inline with president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda and rebuilding the northeast region and restored livelihoods initiated various developmental policies and programmes in the state.
He assured that the projects would be completed within a ten month calendar aimed at upon up transportation of goods and services, easy linkage to education, healthcare services and business activities in the benefitting communities.
He said the 2.5 kilometer road and drainage is part of efforts to complement Buni’s administration to restore livelihoods of most affected communities by the activities of insurgents.

Professor Ali Abbas emphasised that the commission would be prioritised local capacity including engineers, artisan and labourers among other teeming youths to create job opportunities.
Chairman Potiskum local government council Alhaji Salisu Muntari expressed gratitude to the state government under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni and the northeast development commission for the gesture.
Represented by his vice Alhaji Adamu Hamza Ngojin, the chairman stated that when completed the road would link over five hundred thousand people with access roads and other basic amenities.
