North West University, Sokoto Signs Knowledge Sharing MoU With Pakistan University

The North West University, Sokoto (NWUS) has signed a Memoradum of Understanding (MOU) with University of Lahoure, Pakistan, Professor Mukhtar Umar Bunza has said.
Prof. Bunza who is the Vice Chancellor of NWUS, made this disclosure Monday while brefing newsmen on the milestone, which according to him mark the first international engagement of the institutions quest for educational standard.
While maintaining that it’s simply an important milestone in their commitment to global academic
engagement, knowledge exchange, and capacity development, Prof. Bunza it’s also a fulfilment of one of the shared visions of the Founder and Pro-Chancellor, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko towards advancing higher education through cooperation that transcends geographical boundaries.
“As you are aware, universities today must operate within an interconnected global ecosystem where research, innovation, and professional training are strengthened through collaboration. The agreement the NWUS has just signed represents a strategic step toward positioning this institution within that ecosystem”.
Talking on some of the primary purposes of the agreement, Prof. Bunza said it’s structured for academic and professional collaboration between the two institutions.
This according to him seeks to, ‘facilitate mutual cooperation in teaching, research, training, and scholarly exchange, while creating opportunities that enhance institutional capacity and broaden learning experiences for students and faculties alike”.

Continuing, Prof. Bunza said such agreements leads to complementary strengths aimed at promoting innovation, improve professional competencies, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of medical and allied disciplines.
“Within this framework, both universities have agreed to explore areas of cooperation that include academic exchange programmes, joint research initiatives, curriculum enrichment, professional training, and knowledge-sharing platforms”.
The Vice Chancellor further affirmed that, the partnership will also encourage collaboration in seminars, conferences, workshops, and other scholarly engagements designed to foster intellectual interaction and promote best practices in higher education delivery.
This is in addition to “providing avenues for staff and student mobility, collaborative academic development, and the sharing of institutional expertise”. Prof. Bunza affirmed.
