Yobe govt promotes 1,700 teachers to boost education sector
The Yobe Teachers’ Service Board (TSB) has promoted 1,700 teachers across cadres to reward diligence and improve service delivery in the state’s education sector.
The Executive Chairman of the board, Alhaji Yakubu Dokshi, announced the promotions after a management meeting on Tuesday in Damaturu.

Dokshi said the exercise recognised dedication and excellence among teachers, adding that it would strengthen teaching standards and learning outcomes across public schools.
He explained that the initiative aligned with government efforts to reprogramme the education sector and motivate staff for optimal performance.
“Elevating our teachers directly enhances learning outcomes and school performance,” Dokshi said.
He commended Gov. Mai Mala Buni for his sustained commitment to education development in the state.
According to him, the gesture reflects the administration’s resolve to transform the sector and improve human capital development.

The Secretary of the board, Mohammed ibn Musa, also appreciated the governor for prioritising education and supporting teachers’ welfare.
Similarly, the Director of Personnel Management, Umar Haruna, congratulated the promoted staff and urged them to remain diligent and punctual in their duties.
Haruna advised the beneficiaries to sustain professionalism and contribute meaningfully to community development through quality teaching.
The director observed that the promotions would boost teacher morale, encourage innovation and reinforce commitment to excellence in the education sector.
