“A Square peg in a square Hole” Arc. Ahmad Buba for Damaturu, Gujba, Gulani and Tarmuwa federal constituency 2027.

 Written by Yusuf Bukar Biriri.

Hon. Arc. Ahmad Buba is one of those rare figures whose life and career have been defined not by privilege, but by sacrifice, empathy, and an unbroken bond with ordinary citizens. In my opinion, the growing call for him to contest for the green chamber is not mere nostalgia; it is a wise and necessary demand for credible representation.

What makes Arc. Ahmad truly begins with his unshakable experience in leadership, rebuilding, resettlement, reconstructionand development, This early exposure to rural struggles was not a disadvantage; it was his political university.

These are not just personal virtues; they are public assets. In an era when many politicians lack basic patience and perseverance, Ahmad’s quiet determination stands as a refreshing contrast, one that constituents desperately need.

His executive record speaks for itself. From August 2023 to date, he served in the Yobe State executive council in a critical post-insurgency recovery architecture.  In my view, such consistent infrastructural development and modernisation trust is the strongest indicator of effective leadership.

However, what truly elevates Arc. Ahmad is above many of his peers in terms of executive experience; it is compassion. During the peak of the insurgency, when thousands from the northeast lost their homes and dignity, Ahmad did not retreat to safety. Instead, he became a pillar of hope. In my opinion, a leader’s true test is not during peaceful times, but during crises. Ahmad Buba passed that test with flying colours.

He personally engaged and focused on RRR in Borno state, which is one of the success stories, facilitated assistance for displaced families, and ensured that widows, children, and the elderly were not forgotten. Importantly, these interventions were not media spectacles. They were driven by genuine empathy and a deep sense of responsibility.

His appointment as focal person northeast development commission NEDC later in 2023 as Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development in Yobe State further demonstrated his versatility. He forms part of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s strong pillars in the recovery process and city beautification for economic growth. This shows that Ahmad is not just a politician who talks; he is a public servant who delivers across sectors.

Over the years, he belonged to the ruling party  APC as a loyal member who aspires for the seat of the house of representative representing the good people of Damaturu, Gujba, Gulani and Tarmuwa constituency during the last 2015, 2019 and 2023 that is a remarkable consistency in the Nigerian political journey, proving that his allegiance is to service, not to political convenience. That is exactly the kind of trustworthy figure needed today.

What I find most admirable is his leadership style: no noise, no self-promotion, just quiet, measurable impact. He is humble, generous, and believes in lifting others. In an era when leadership is too often measured by loudness and social media visibility, Arc. Ahmad reminds us that the best leaders are often the ones who let their work speak.

For these reasons, I strongly believe that the people of Damaturu, Gujba, Gulani and Tarmuwa constituency are right to call him to service. Supporting Hon. Arc. Ahmad Buba once again is not just a political choice it is a reaffirmation of trust in a leader who has consistently stood by his people when they needed him most. That is the kind of leadership worth fighting for.
