Yobe NUJ chair applauded Gov-buni over appointing season journalist as media manager

The Nigeria Union of journalists NUJ Yobe State Chair, Comrade Rajab Muhammad Ismail, applauded Governor Mai Mala Buni for appointing Alhaji Abubakar S. Fada as General Manager of Yobe Broadcasting Corporation YBC Damaturu.

 Rajab expressed confidence in Fada’s capacity to run the organization and pledged the union’s full support and cooperation to move the station forward.

He also congratulated the former GM, Alhaji Musa Galadima, for his contributions to the media industry in Yobe and across Nigeria.

Comrade Rajab directed all  working journalists, including those in correspondent chapels, are required to pay practising fees as stipulated in the amended union constitution.

 This is framed as necessary for journalists to carry out their responsibilities effectively he added.

He further appealed that henceforth  Members should channel any issues to the council secretariat for action and clarification.

 The Congress urged journalists to use their official ID cards to avoid harassment while on duty.

Comrade Rajab acknowledged the Yobe Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu, for approving a weight-in allowance for practising journalists in the state.

 He also appreciated the council secretary, Comrade Alhasan Sule Mamudo, and RATAWU leadership for their numerous contributions 

The council secretary comrade Alhasan Sule Mamudo briefed members on the *national NUJ premium health insurance initiative* for practising journalists nationwide.
