Plateau: Mikang LG chairman donates 18 motorcycle to councillors
Mr Bernard Soepding, the Chairman of Mikang Local Government (LG) Area in Plateau, has donated 18 motorcycle to councillors representing the wards, to enhance effective service
A statement by the council’s Head of Media and Publicity, Mr Nkat Lakai, quoted the chairman as saying that the gesture would strengthen grassroots represention and ensure that lawmakers could reach their wards with ease.
The chairman added that the motorcycles would enable the councillors to monitor projects, attend community meetings and respond promptly to issues affecting residents.
Soepding urged the beneficiaries to use the motorcycles for official purposes and maintain them properly.

He further encouraged the officers to remain dedicated to the welfare of the people and work collectively towards the development of the area.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Mr Putdet said the support was timely and would aid the councillors’ quest to be close to the people.
“The items will help us to fully discharge our legislative functions,” he said.
He assured the people of Mikang Local Government of continued commitment to effective representation and pledged effective use of the motorcycles in the discharge of their duties.
