Governor Inuwa Yahaya Constitutes Panel to Probe Allegations of Misconduct Against Acting Director of Public Prosecutions
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has approved the constitution of a high-powered panel to investigate complaints and allegations of misconduct against the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Ministry of Justice, Abubakar Jungudo, Esq.
The approval was conveyed by the Head of Civil Service, Professor Mu’azu Shehu, who disclosed that the Governor, having carefully considered the nature and gravity of the allegations contained in the complaint, also directed the immediate suspension of the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions pending the outcome of the investigation.
According to the Head of Civil Service, the decision is in line with the principles of due process and is intended to ensure a fair, transparent and unhindered investigation into the allegations.

The investigative panel will be chaired by Hon. Justice Haruna Habila Kereng, a Judge of the Gombe State High Court.
Members include a Director from the Ministry of Justice, a representative of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), a representative of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Gombe and a representative of the Department of State Services (DSS), while the Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Service Matters, Office of the Head of Civil Service, will serve as Secretary.
The panel, which is to begin its assignment immediately, has been mandated to thoroughly investigate the allegations, examine all relevant facts and evidence, and submit its findings and recommendations to His Excellency through the Office of the Head of Civil Service.
