NADCEL 2021: ARMY OFFER FREE MEDICAL SERVICES TO ZAMFARA COMMUNITY

The Nigerian Army, 1 Brigade, Gusau on Monday, flagged off free medical treatment to Nasarawa Rafi village in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara.

The gesture is part of the activities marking the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2021 by the Nigerian Army.

The Acting Commanding Officer, 1 Brigade Medical Center, Gusau, Captain Hillary Gami, who led the Army medical team to the community, while speaking with newsmen after the exercise, said members of the community suffering from various diseases were attended to.

Gami said that Medical and Paramedical personnel were deployed to the community for the outreach.

“We have treated sickness such as, Hypertension, Diabetics, Malaria, Eyes, Dental care as well as deworming their children and water purification tablets, among others,”he said.

The team lead identified malaria as the most challenging sickness in the community, attributing it to proximity to ditches and grassing areas.

Supervising the exercise, Brigade Commander, 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Gusau, Brig. Gen. Isiaka Olatunji, assured the community of more support and commitment to restore normalcy in the State.
The village Head of the community, Malam Musa Muhammad, commended the Nigerian Army for the gesture which he described as historic in the community.

Muhammad expressed gladness on the outreach and prayed Allah for the success of the Nigerian Army in their operations.
He assured of their continued support and compliment to the Army’s efforts to secure the state.

Malam Umar Yusha’u, who responded on behalf of the beneficiaries of the outreach, expressed happiness for the free treatment with care, love and free laboratory diagnosis and drugs.
