APC register 775, 000 members in Zamfara, says Abdul’aziz Yari
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has registered a total of 775,000 in the state at the just concluded membership registration/revalidation exercise of the party.
Former Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Yari disclosed this on Monday while addressing APC members from Talata-Mafara, Bakura and Maradun LGAs at his residence in Mafara town.
He said the meeting was to sensitise party stakeholders on the outcome of APC stakeholders’ meeting held recently in Kaduna following Gov Bello Matawalle’s defection from the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) to APC.

“Zamfara is one of the states that recorded tremendous success during the exercise.
“We were even commended by the National Headquarters of the party, because, we register a total of 775, 000 members, therefore we stand on that registration,” he said.
Yari called on APC members in the state to ignore the rumors going round that the membership card of the party was no more valid.
“I want you to know that your membership cards are valid as far as the constitution of our great party is concerned.
“Forget about those who are going round, spreading rumors that there is going to be new registration in the state.
“Don’t ever listen to them, they are only trying to confuse you,” Yari explained.
According to him, the three-man committee said to have been appointed by the National Caretaker Committee of the party was unconstitutional.
“None of the three people who have been appointed as caretaker committee members has the APC membership card, it would be a violation of APC constitution if they insisted on registering new party members.
“We are going to sit down with Matawalle’s team after Eid-el-Kabir celebration in order to come out with modalities that could take the party to greater heights,” he explained.
Earlier, the State APC factional Chairman, Alhaji Lawal M Liman commended Yari for making APC strong in the state.
Liman said that the party members in the state have enjoyed various programmes initiated by the former governor to uplift the wellbeing of the members.
He thanked party stakeholders and supporters for their perseverance and support to the party.
