Abducted FUNAAB Student Murdered After Paying Ransom
A student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Christiana Idowu, has been confirmed dead after being kidnapped between Ikorodu and Yaba in Lagos State.
The Student Union Government President, Ibrahim Adeyemi, confirmed the tragic news on Thursday, stating, “The Union can confirm that she was reportedly killed by her abductor.
According to him, We will be addressing the matter soon.”
Christiana had been abducted while traveling to the University of Lagos for her industrial training.
After initially demanding a N3 million ransom, the kidnappers reduced the amount to N350,000, which the family paid.
Despite this, Christiana was not released and was tragically murdered.
Intelligence operatives later traced the abductor through the banking details used to collect the ransom, but their efforts came too late to save the victim.

“By the 29th, intelligence operatives had confirmation from the bank that the BVN linked to the masked Betting account allegedly belonged to the account owner (name withheld for now) who also operates the Wema Bank (account no withheld for now)
“Further investigation revealed that he was able to withdraw the sum of N100,000 from the betting account before agents got the betting company to lock the account,” the tweet read.
Investigation into the incident is still ongoing, while reactions from the Lagos State Police are awaited.
