Adamawa Govt. distributes tools to 49 cooperative societies
The Adamawa Government on Tuesday distributed working tools to 49 registered cooperative societies at the grassroots level in the state.
The distribution was made by Mr Hammanjuba Gatugel, the state Commissioner for Entrepreneurship Development, in Mubi-North Local Government Area (LGA).
The Voice Media Trust(VMT NEWS) reports that the items distributed included sewing machines; grinding machines, welding machines and saloon equipment, among others.
“The intervention was aim at promoting entrepreneurship development and creating wealth in the state.
“The tools will also serve as catalyst for social capital development; job creation; poverty reduction and foster economic advancement,” Gatugel said.
He emphasised the ministry’s commitment to advancing entrepreneurship and facilitating the growth of businesses and industries in the state.
According to him, if the tools are put to economic use, they will impact positivpositively on more than 500 members of the groups.
Gatugel said that in the first quarter of 2024, the ministry had supported 15 ooperative societies mostly artisans which resulted to 50 per cent increase in their economic activities.
Mr Kwaji Duguri, Permanent Secretary in the ministry, urged the beneficiaries to continue to develop their entrepreneurial skills and make good use of the distributed toolkits.
Duguri said that the distribution aligned with Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s campaign promises to create an enabling environment for business growth.

In his remarks, The Chairman of Mubi -North Council, Mr Musa Hassan, represented by the Council’s Secretary, Mr Abubakar Umar, pledged full support for the smooth distribution of the tools.
Hassan advised the beneficiaries to take advantage of the gesture to improve on their businesses.
The State Director of Cooperatives, Zainab Bode, said that the tools and equipment would be closely monitored to ensure that they were put to proper use.
Hassan Njidda, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to Fintiri for his support, and promised to utilise the tools effectively to improve their livelihoods.
VMT NEWS reports that the benefiting groups were drawn from seven LGAs affected by insurgency – Madagali, Michika; Mubi North; Mubi South; Maiha; Hong, and Gombi.
