Adamawa gov’t eases Lamurde curfew, warns troublemakers

The Adamawa government has eased the curfew in Lamurde Local Government Area, permitting movement from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. with immediate effect.

The development is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou.

Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri cautioned residents against breaching the law, stressing that the relaxation should not be abused.

“This gesture should not be taken lightly. Those behind the violence have been identified and will face consequences.

“The era of leniency is over; anyone breaking the law will be arrested and prosecuted,” the governor warned.

He urged law-abiding citizens to conduct their activities peacefully, assuring them of government protection.

“The government will protect your rights and freedoms, but will not hesitate to act against troublemakers.

“You have been warned. The government is watching, and justice will be served. Do not test our patience,” he said.

The governor appealed to all parties to maintain peace and order in Lamurde.
