Adamawa hails Saudi’s food aid to 2,450 households
The Adamawa government has commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the donation of food items to 2,450 vulnerable households in the state.
The Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta stated this on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by a Saudi delegation led by Mr Yusuf Abdulkarim.
She said the gesture would ease hardship of the beneficiaries, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Farauta emphasised the need for a collaborative effort towards addressing vulnerability in times of crisis, noting that, “all hands must be on deck to bring succour to the people.”
Earlier, Abdulkarim said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), facilitated the food donation.
He said the intervention targeted Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), orphans, widows, the elderly, and other vulnerable persons in the society.
“The relief effort will be implemented in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
“The donated food items, comprising essential staples, aim to enhance nutrition and sustain vulnerable families during Ramadan,” he said.

Also, the Director-General, NEMA, Zubaida Umar, lauded the Saudi Kingdom over its support to the agency.
Represented by Onibode Bandele, Director Planning, Research and Forecasting in the agency, Umar said the gesture aligned with the shared commitment of both nations.
“Towards an unrestricted humanity, ensuring that aid reaches those most in need.
“The intervention came at a critical time, reinforcing efforts to combat hunger and enhance food security during Ramadan,” she said.
