Afghan road mishap kills 3, brings death toll to nearly 100
Three commuters were reportedly killed with four others sustaining injuries as a car turned turtle in the northern Afghanistan Balkh provincial capital, Mazar-i-Sharif city on Monday.
This had brought the number of traffic accident-related deaths to nearly 100 in a week, a provincial police office said in a statement.
The deadly mishap, according to the statement, took place on a road linking Mazar-i-Sharif to the border town Hairatan, leaving three people dead on the spot and four seriously injured.

This is the second road accident in the past two days, the statement said.
Road accidents have left about 100 dead over the past week in Afghanistan, with the deadliest registered in the western Herat city when a passenger bus caught fire and killed 79 people.
Those that died in the accident that occurred last Tuesday included women and children. (Xinhua/NAN)
