Amidst challenges, Buhari acknowledges Tinubu’s efforts as President
Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his belief that President Bola Tinubu is performing well in his role since assuming office on May 29, 2023, despite the challenges of insecurity and hunger.
Acknowledging the difficulties faced by the current administration due to policies such as the removal of petrol subsidies and exchange rate reforms leading to economic hardships and high inflation rates, Buhari emphasized the demanding nature of governing Nigeria and expressed confidence in Tinubu’s capabilities.
During a meeting with the comptroller-general and management team of the Nigeria Customs Service in Daura, Katsina state, Buhari urged Nigerians to persevere through the economic challenges and show support for the government’s policies.
“I appreciate your visit and commend Tinubu for his efforts. Governing Nigeria is a complex task, and there are limitations to what can be achieved,” Buhari stated.
In response, Bashir Adeniyi, the comptroller-general of customs, praised Buhari for his contributions to enhancing the NCS during his tenure, emphasizing the service’s commitment to securing the nation’s borders to strengthen the Nigerian economy.
