ANTI-THUGGERY ARRESTS 10 SUSPECTS FOR DISTRACTING APC RALLY IN ZAMFARA

The Zamfara government Anti-thuggery Standing Committee says it has arrested 10 suspected political thugs including the Secretary of Tsafe Local Government Council for causing havoc at the All Progressive Congress (APC) rally in Gusau the state capital.

The Committee Chairman, Mr Bello Bakyasuwa disclosed this while parading the suspects before the journalists in Gusau on Thursday.

“You know, one million man rally organised by the APC youths Committee of APC Governorship Campaign Council took place in Gusau, the state capital in support of Gov Bello Matawalle second term bid.

“While monitoring the rally, we arrested 10 suspects for carrying dangerous weapons and distraction of peace and stability.

“Some of the suspects were arrested for attacking our personnel.

“As I am speaking now, our two female personnel injured by the thugs are currently receiving treatment at Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau”, he said.

“The most unfortunate thing is that among sponsors of the suspects is Secretary of Tsafe Local Government Council.

“As we all know, we are existing on the executive order No. 2 of Zamfara state that gave us mandate to fight any act of political thuggery, drug abuse and other crimes in the state”, he explained.

Bakyasuwa appealed to politicians in the state to comply with the government’s directives and avoid engaging youths in to political thuggery in the name of politics.
