Aviation Perm Sec Lauds NAMA’s Professionalism

The newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Federal  Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana has extolled the professional capabilities of the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) in ensuring the safety and efficiency of air navigation in the country.

Dr Abubakar Kana who submitted that NAMA’ role remain very strategic and pivotal in the nation’s economic development, added that, the teamwork, dedication and commitment of the entire staff towards achieving organisational objectives was exceptional and worthy of commendation. 

While stressing that only such teamwork can guarantee  collective goals, Dr Abunakar said,

“Teamwork is the foundation of success, and your dedication will continue to propel NAMA to greater heights,” 

Speaking during a working tour of the agency’s corporate headquarters in Abuja, Dr Abubakar affirmed that,  NAMA’s vision to be a leading air navigation service provider in the world aligned with the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo’s strategic visions for the sector which is in sync with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate to elevate the aviation industry.

The Permanent Secretary who  Acknowledged the challenges posed by the fluctuating dollar exchange rate, however reiterated government’s commitment to addressing funding challenges in the sector and pledged to collaborate with the Honourable Minister to secure the necessary funding to support the agency’s projects.

Speaking earlier in his welcome address, the Managing Director/Chief Executive of NAMA Engr Ahmed Umar Farouk expressed gratitude for the Permanent Secretary’s visit, saying,  taking time to tour all the offices at the headquarters of the agency which is the “heart of the aviation industry was a good initiative, hence safety remains sacrosanct in NAMA’s operations.

Continuing, the agency’s Managing Director, listed funding as one of the  major challenges they face in their bid to achieve critical navigational infrastructure, adding some of the agency’s projects were currently 50% completed while efforts were being made to source for more funding.

Engr Farouk equally  expressed confidence in the collaborative efforts of the Permanent Secretary and the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development saying he is optimistic that,  they will ensure  successful completion of these projects. 

He also divulged that, plans are on to commence work on the building of its corporate headquarters at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport, Abuja with the groundbreaking ceremony for the project to be performed by the Honourable Minister soonest.From left: Engr Farouk, NAMA’s MD/CEO and the agency’s new Perm.Sec.
