Bagudu’s wife seeks support, donates cash to people with Albinism
The Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Dr Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, has sought public support for the people living with Albinism and stoppage of discrimination against them.
Shinkafi-Bagudu, stated this while addressing members of the Association People Living with Albinism in Nigeria, Kebbi State chapter, during the International Albinism Awareness Day celebration in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.
The wife of the governor, represented by the Senior Special Assistant on Empowerment to the Gov. Bagudu, Hajiya Maimunatu Suleiman-Jega, noted that people living with albinism needed support, love and acceptance in the society.
“Her Excellency is calling of every member of public to show care , provide support and also treat people living with Albinism as part of the society.

“We should not discriminate against them, we should try and help, provide support and be there for them on any issue they might come up with.
“People living with albinism are beautiful,” she said.
The wife of the governor, also distributed N10,000 each to unidentified members of the association as part of support to the association through Covid- 19 fund relief.
Earlier, the Zonal Coordinator of the association, Malm Abba Galadima, commended the efforts of the wife of the governor for always supporting people with special needs in the society.
Galadima advised his members to always wear long sleeve cloths and other protective gadgets to protect themselves against sunlight.
International Albinism Awareness Day (IAAD) is celebrated annually on June 13 to celebrate the human rights of persons with albinism world wide.
