Despite ongoing efforts to rescue about 300 abducted residents in Kaduna State, more distressing news emerged as bandits struck again, kidnapping an additional 30 individuals in Buda village, Kajuru local government area.
The perpetrators, known for their offensive tactics and experienced weaponry, reportedly carried out the abduction unchallenged during the late hours of Monday through Tuesday morning.
A confidential source disclosed the method of operation of the kidnappers.
“The kidnappers came in their usual commando style with sophisticated weapons and operated for hours unchallenged,” he stated.
This incident adds to the rising trend of kidnapping and other attacking activities in Kaduna State.
The source further highlighted the reluctance of community leaders to speak out against such atrocities, citing concerns for their safety and that of their constituents.
“A lot of criminal activities have been happening in Kajuru in recent times but leaders of the affected communities are afraid of coming to the press due to lack of security of their lives and that of their subjects,” he stated.
With the fate of those previously abducted remain uncertain, with families eagerly awaiting any news of their loved ones.
This latest incident coincides with the visit of Inspector General of Police Kayode Agbetokun to the state, raising questions about the timing and motives behind the increase in criminal activity.
Despite the level of the situation, neither the Kaduna State Police Command nor the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs has issued an official statement regarding the recent abduction.
