Buni gifts teenage winners of Global English competition, debate N30m
Gov Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has announced a N30 million gift to three teenagers for emerging overall best in English Language and debate competition at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London.
The champions, Nafisa Abdullahi, Ruqayya Fema and Hadiza Kalli, are all students of Nigeria Tulip International College, Mamudo in the state.
Buni, who made the announcement in Damaturu on Thursday, also approved scholarship for the champions into tertiary institutions.

He described the victory an “incredible feat” which brought glory to the state and country at large.
“ These are great feats that make us proud and justify the government’s investment in the education sector,” the governor said.
According to Buni, the state annually spends N2.6 billion in scholarship for 890 students of the college, built and funded by the state, but managed by Turks.
The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that Abdullahi, Fema and Kalli defeated 20,000 contestants from 69 countries during the competition held in August 2025.
