The Conference of Like Minds for the Emancipation of the All Progressives Congress APC in Taraba (CLEMPACT) has alleged plans by some members of the party who came in from the People’s Democratic Party PDP, in collaboration with other members have perfected plans to ruin the party in the state completely before decamping back to the PDP.
Coordinator of the group Mr Joseph Isaac who disclosed this on Tuesday while talking to Journalists in Jalingo said that the plans include kangaroo suspension and or expulsion of some pillars of the party using some miscreants posing as leaders of the party at ward and Council levels.
He said that it was obvious that some of the persons who ran away from the PDP in the state when the governor made it too difficult for them to have their way, have worked against the party from within all along, costing the party a lot of misfortune in the last election.
“It has become imperative for us to address the ugly monster that is about to consume our great party the APC if urgent actions are not taken. We have gathered reliably that some of the people parading themselves as APC chieftains in the state are actually working to destroy the party completely.
“Recall that, at the last general election, the acclaimed flag bearer of our great party Senator Bwacha lost his own local government of Donga to Labor Party and could only win two local government areas out of the Sixteen local government areas in the state at the governorship election. Infact, apart from winning his local government, the only other local government he won is Ussa and that was a protest vote because of the ethnic crisis between the Kuteb and Jukun over the seat of Ukwe Takum. For the presidential election, LP won even his own local government on a landslide. This is someone who called the APC a Boko Haram party. What has changed in the party now or has he also joined Boko Haram?
“He came with a group of people that he wants to take over the party structure and control it. Sadly, these are people without elective value. In the last election, none of them could deliver to Asiwaju Tinubu.
“The lots of Abel Peter Diah, Marafa Bashir, Mark Usseni, Uba Maigari Amadu, Ibrahim Tukur Elsudi, the deposed state Chairman of APC in Taraba and others have perfected plans remove some critical stakeholders of the party by orchestrating some fictitious suspension and expulsions using some miscreants. We are aware that they have penciled names such as Senator Yusuf A. Yusuf, Babangida Nguroje, the pioneer Chairman of APC in Taraba Alhaji Hassan Jika Ardo, who came from the legacy parties, senator Tutare and others for expulsion.
“It is on record that the APC flag bearer was the first person to congratulate the candidate of the PDP after the election, despite the fact that the election is marred by a lot of irregularities. That shows you that while they were parading as APC members, they were working for the PDP all along.
“In Nguroje where Marafa Bashir hails, PDP won overwhelmingly, despite fielding an Ibo man. So it is very clear from our findings that they have been working for the opposition party all along. After costing the party victory in the last election, they are now poised to create confusion and destroy the party before moving on to their base which is the PDP.
“Clearly, these people didn’t join the party to help it succeed but to destroy it. You recall that Senator Emmanuel Bwacha once described the APC as a Boko Haram party. That is the same person that came and hijacked the ticket of the same party and is now claiming to be a faithful party man. All the acclaimed stalwarts lost terribly. They could not deliver for the PDP.
“For you to know that we know what we are saying, you will recall that a few days ago, some persons came out claiming to be the executive of the party in Takum local government area have expelled the Senator elect for Taraba’s Southern Senatorial District Mr David Jimkuta. That is the same thing they have planned out for Ardo, Senator Yusuf, Tutare and others.

“It is imperative that the national leadership of the party looks into this and takes care to forestall the plans by these figures to destroy our dear party. Some of us have only known the APC all along and we only have the party to protect. We can not sit back and allow the party to be ruined.
“At this moment, APC needs to come back and bring everyone on board and present a strong front in the state. Sadly, our candidate has chosen to accept the result without challenging the irregularities. That notwithstanding, we need to close ranks and reposition the party ahead of future elections” he said .
“I read a story in some sections of the media calling on the President elect to consider Senator Emmanuel Bwacha for Ministerial appointment and I laugh. Why should Tinubu give Ministerial appointment to someone who could not deliver his own local government? Recall that the Labor Party won Donga on a landslide. Besides that, Bwacha is a Jukun man, from Southern Senatorial Zone, same as the outgoing and incoming governors in the state. Why would they still get the Ministerial slot? That zone has already produced Seven ministers from the same tribe while Norther Taraba has produced Four. It is only Taraba Central that has not produced a single minister. So I don’t think Tinubu will contemplate such a travesty.
“And just before we forget, remember that our candidate could not visit Taraba State for his campaign because these same set of people collected and picketed the money that was meant for organizing his campaign visit to the state. They are the same people that got the knocks of the Emir of Muri and other royal father’s who saw through their sheep clothing and discovered the real wolves in them. They are now paying their way through the media clamouring for Ministerial appointments. It’s most unfortunate.
“Today, they are out to destroy the founders of the party in the state and create maximum confusion before they will dumb the party for the PDP where they all belong. We would not seat back and allow this to happen. Let me call on the national leadership of the party and the President elect to urgently look into these issues, if the survival of APC in Taraba State is of any consequence to them” he said.
