247

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, President and founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, widely known as Christ Embassy, has announced plans to build a bigger and better church following a fire incident at the church’s headquarters.

The fire, which broke out on Sunday morning, affected the headquarters located in the Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos State.

During a live Sunday service at the church’s campground in Asese, Ogun State, Pastor Oyakhilome addressed the incident, expressing a positive outlook and seeing it as an opportunity for growth. He emphasized that such events are not accidents but rather avenues for divine improvement.

“Nothing happens in the life of a child of God by accident,” Oyakhilome stated. Recalling a past experience, he added, “During the 2001 Ikeja Cantonment bombing incident, the building vibrated so much, and we thought it was going to collapse. I thought to myself that if it collapsed, I was going to build a bigger, better one. At the end of the day, it didn’t collapse, and we called the engineers to see if there was any need to bring it down and rebuild, but it was still okay.”

Reflecting on the current fire incident, he assured the congregation and followers that they would rise from this setback with an even more magnificent structure. “Now that this has happened, we will build a bigger, better, and more glorious one, and the devil will lick his wound,” he declared.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service promptly responded to the fire, working diligently to control and extinguish the blaze. Videos from the scene, shared on social media platform X.com, captured the intense flames and the efforts of the firefighters. Augustine, a user tweeting as Chief_Augustin1, shared, “Christ Embassy Church on Billings Way, Oregun, is on fire. Serious fire is raging, and men of the Lagos State Fire Service are working hard to put it off. Thank God service hasn’t commenced fully.”

Despite the unfortunate incident, Pastor Oyakhilome’s message was one of resilience and faith, inspiring the congregation to look forward to the future with hope and determination. The church community is now poised to embark on a new chapter, turning a moment of crisis into an opportunity for renewal and expansion.

As investigations into the cause of the fire continue, the Christ Embassy congregation remains united and optimistic, drawing strength from their leader’s unwavering faith and vision for a more glorious future.
