Commissioner for housing and urban development handed over completed project, inspect ongoing.

The Yobe state government has handed over various completed projects to rebuild and revitalise capital development as part of Governor Buni’s post-insurgency recovery program.
Speaking while handing over completed general studies and public health department edifice at the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Sciences Commissioner, Ministry for Housing and Urban Development, Architect Ahmed Bouba Abba-Kyari, said the ministry is carrying out routine inspection visits to ensure timely and quality execution of all ongoing projects in the state.

Architect Buba Abba Kyari expressed appreciation for the quality of both completed and ongoing projects and called on the contractors handling the projects to speed up to meet the contractual requirements.
According to him, Governor Buni is willing to commission all ongoing projects early next year.
Receiving the newly completed edifice, Commissioner, Ministry for Health and Human Services, Dr Mohamed Lawan Gana, who handed over the projects to the college, said it is in line with Governor Buni’s vision towards increasing training of healthcare workers to make the state a centre for medical tourism.
Dr Lawan Gana further stated that Yobe has the lowest incidence of brain drain, pointing out that the government has recently observed over 2,500 healthcare workers across the state to improve healthcare delivery.
The Commissioner also inspected ongoing projects for the construction of Damaturu Mega City Mall, Bureau for Public Procurement Office Complex as well as city beautification projects along Sir Kashim Ibrahim Way Canoe Runabout.

Others are the construction of the Damaturu Mega Motor Park, Airport Road Runabout and the Ministry of Housing New Office Complex.
Similarly, the Commissioner inspected the proposed Mai Mala-Buni College of Integrated School of Sciences and Technology temporary site at Red Briggs Housing Estate along Maiduguri Road.
According to him, some years back, the blocks were destroyed by insurgents, and the government deemed it necessary to reconstruct two blocks of six six-bedroom flats for the take-up of the newly established Maimala-Buni Integrated School of Sciences.
In their separate remarks, Director of Public Building Engineer Haruna Mutai and General Project Coordinator Samsud Construction Nigeria Limited Engineer Muhammad Abba Hassan promised to execute quality projects based on the timeframe.
