Communique of The North East Governors Meeting in Taraba
The North East Governors’ Forum at the end of its 12th meeting in Jalingo, Taraba state, noted with satisfaction the appreciable success recorded against insurgency in the sub-region and called for sustenance of the onslaught.

This is contained in a communique issued at the end of the meeting which was read by the Yobe state Governor, His Excellency, Hon. (Dr) Mai Mala Buni CON, COMN.
The Forum noted with concern the effects of climate change and the impending flood in the subregion and called for relocation of communities in floodplain areas to safer locations.
The Forum also called on relevant agencies, including the North East Development Commission, to reconstruct the roads and bridges destroyed by floods in the region.
Similarly, the Governors decried the high cost of farm inputs this cropping season and called for the supply of more inputs to subsidise irrigation farming.

The Governors agreed to rejuvenate the North East trade fair, to commence in Maiduguri in December 2025.
The Forum also considered having a master plan on solar energy to provide power in the states.
The Governors congratulated the University of Maiduguri on its 50th anniversary and pledged to support the institution.
