COURT ADJOURNS SUIT CHALLENGING ZAMFARA PDP GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE
Justice Aminu Bappa Aliyu of Federal High Court, Gusau has on Tuesday adjourned until July 8, a suit challenging credibility of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Primary election in Zamfara for the 2023 general elections that produced Dr Dauda Lawal-Dare as PDP Governorship candidate in the state.
Dr Lawal Dare emerged winner at Zamfara PDP governorship primary elections held at PDP Secretariat Gusau on May 25, 2022.

The primary elections was conducted on under the committee sent from the PDP National Headquarters Abuja led by Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri.

The Plaintiff is PDP Governorship aspirant, Dr Ibrahim Shehu Gusau
While the five defendants include: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, (Chairman Zamfara PDP Governorship Primary election committee sent from PDP Headquarters Abuja).
And Col. Bala Mande (Rtd) (State PDP, Chairman).
Other dependents are, Dr Dauda Lawal Dare, (PDP Governorship candidate declared by the primary election) and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Justice Bappa Aliyu said the suit was adjourned to Jul. 8 for further mentioning the case because the defendants or their lawyers were absent at the court sitting.
Speaking to the Journalists after the Court sitting a led counsel to the Plantiff, Barrister Ibrahim Bello Sani said the
suit is challenging credibility of the PDP Governorship primary election in Zamfara for the 2023 general elections conducted by the committee led Adamu Maina.Waziri.
“There were irregularities, bridge of the Constitutional Provisions and Electoral Act. 2022.
“We are praying for the nullification of the that primary election that product Dauda Lawal Dare as PDP Governorship candidate.
“We are also seeking for court to conduct another primary election in the state”, Bello said.
“The defendants and their lawyers are not in the court, even though they have 30 days to respond to our claim”, he explained.
